Knowing The True Meaning Of Temporary Thruth And The Real Thruth Will Guide You To Real Success.

Today we are experiencing an
excellent deal of conflict because many of us feel if they believe something,
it's true. So you think that there are only 325 days within the year, everyone
deserves an education, that each one old people are stupid - that these are
truths. have you ever disagreed with a spouse, employee, or customer? Let me
describe the conversation. You tried to convince them that they were not the
same way as you and you were on the correct way. They tried to convince you
that they were on a good way and you were on the wrong way. How am I doing? the
matter is that truth evolves. I'm not implying that Temporary Truth is true or
wrong, just that tons of stuff is merely true until their replacement truth
shows up.
Here is one example. For many years if you had an illness, first they cut you open and allow you to bleed till you were cured - the reality about medicine. Next treatment - they gave you pills. For years people believed that the present treatments were the simplest or maybe only treatment available.
But, over time all was replaced by a
replacement and supposedly better one - now the new Temporary Truth. Real truth
doesn't change.
Here's an easy one - for many years people
believed the planet was flat - the temporary truth (and supported what -
current beliefs grounded not in facts but rumors). Then - someone discovered
that - wow the planet isn't flat so it must be around - an updated version of
currently perceived truth that everybody now embraced.
What is temporary truth - anything that's
changing, evolving, growing, fading, or is within the past or the longer term.
what's the real truth - gravity is that the truth? Consequences are truth.
Death is that the truth.
Let's be clear - opinions aren't truth or
reality. I'll wager if you asked 30 million people within the US what was their
opinion about (whatever - pick a topic) you'd get a minimum of 15 million
different answers. So, simply because something is your opinion supported your
experience, your education, your personality your (stuff) it's still only your
opinion. you've got a right thereto but here's the interesting thing - I even
have a right to my opinion on an equivalent topic (even if it's different than
yours).
There is an excellent deal of discord within
the world today and why? Because most of the people believe their opinion is or
should be the reality (everyone's truth) - what's right and what the remainder
folks should believe simply because you think it. If this idea were true; the
planet remains flat, we never visited the Moon, the typical lifespan within the
US is 35 years and God may be a myth - need I'm going on?
Truth isn't the reality because you or I think
it or think it should be true. Truth is discovered in facts and evidence and
not opinions - hear me please - FACTS. If there are not any facts to back
anything up - it's just an opinion.
they screamed at the TV as you listened to the
rantings of some political Idiot. Ever felt the strain of a relationship that
was crammed with tension or frustration? I could continue with examples like
these, but the question is - is there a standard cause or contributor to all or
any or of those life situations, struggles, or outcomes?
One of my favorite questions I ask people once
they start telling me (something) is true. Ready - "How does one know
that? What true evidence or facts is that this based on?" Try it another
time some will give you their opinions on something and tries to convince you
they're right and you're wrong. It's a contradiction.
I have had quite my share of individuals come
up to me after one among my speeches or seminars sharing their disagreements
and/or opinions of what I talked about and the way they felt I used to be wrong
or simply plain out of touch - especially when it had been anything associated
with technology. I'm not kidding here - my opinion, regardless of what it had
been, was wrong. I'm wondering if the Fax machine will ever be obsolete? Over
the years I even have spent an excellent deal of your time and research trying
to spot what the unique circumstances were that contributed to those sorts of
reactions, responses, or behaviors when handling others whether face to face or
at a distance. I finally figured it out.
The single biggest issue that contributes to
poor communication, increased conflict, negative relationships, ineffective
employee performance, declining health, bad decisions, lost business,
ineffective management, and declining organization success (need I'm going on?)
- is straightforward but not complicated. once you deal you've got a far better
percentage of higher outcomes than once you deal in Temporary truths or lies.
Let me explain. To make it clear we have not
the same opinions, values, attitudes everyone has theirs owns that are grounded
in personal experience, upbringing, conditioning, and education. When blended
into an individual's mindsets these create their sense of reality; what's,
what's right, what's wrong, what must change etc. the matter gets even worse
when people begin to believe that their sense of reality (the previous stuff
and more) is that the "reality" in other words - all other views,
opinions, attitudes, beliefs, etc. are that afflict it are wrong, outdated,
stupid, unnecessary or invalid because they're different than theirs or
challenge theirs.
Imagine for a moment the last conflict you had
with an employee, spouse, or customer
I will guarantee its source was the
attempt by both of you to validate your own opinion(s) and invalidate the
opposite person's. thanks to current trends in political correctitude, Social
Media, The Selfie Generation we are very rapidly losing the power to develop
meaningful relationships grounded in respectful acceptance of various opinions,
values, beliefs, etc. - both business and private - that are grounded in
openness, understanding, tolerance, and respect.
So, what is the answer? Well, there are a
couple of things we all got to understand if we are getting to deal going
forward and in no particular order they are; fear, the necessity for control,
the will for approval, arrogance, insecurity, denial, criticism avoidance,
acceptance, assumptions, uncertainty and alter, the ripple effect, manipulation
and yes numerous more. Let me just offer you a quick overview of every as
I'm sure you've got other things to try to.
But before I do - a fast real-life example
from my past. a few years ago, I spent the vacations with the family of a
client and a lover. One night we had a conversation and he asked me, "Tim,
what does one believe reincarnation?" My answer, "I do not know much,
I just know I do not believe that unreal things." His response, "How
are you able to have such a robust opinion about something you do not know
anything about?" I even have never forgotten that conversation, and never
will.
Fear - Fear is that the most powerful emotion
in life. And once we let others use it with lies or lack of truth, we give them
power over us until the fear leaves us.
The hundredth monkey effect - this idea says
that when a thought, rumor, concept, invention hits critical mass it's now
spread quickly as truth no matter its validity.
The need for control - many of us today will
say or do anything that provides them perceived control or power. the matter is
that if their actions aren't grounded eventually, they're going to fail and
lose this power or control. Just check out global dictators over the years who
have disappeared.
The need or desire for approval or acceptance
- many of us today want to be liked and revered and need friends and
connections who will "friend, like, support" them.
Let me ask you ways many connections does one
wears Facebook or LinkedIn that you simply do not know in the least but call
friends?
Arrogance and ego - people that are driven by
ego and arrogance will often do or say anything that helps them maintain their
reputation (no matter how dishonest it's going to be), control, or ability to
influence others. Just check out many politicians today.
Insecurity - If people feel insecure, they're
going to often say anything to assist them to manage their insecurity.
Denial - Denial is straightforward - it
refuses to simply accept reality, truth, or any situations, circumstances that
are.
Criticism avoidance - Often people will avoid
reality, endorse untruths, or simply stay quiet for fear of losing their job,
career, a relationship, or maybe their health or safety.
Assumptions - Assumptions are stupid. When
someone tells you something and you do not question it you give them power over
your ideas, actions, beliefs, values, etc.
Uncertainty and alter - When life is uncertain
or changing people fear the longer term they need reassurance or support that
each one is going to be well. this is often why many of us use fear as a way to
regulate others. If they will keep you in fear mode - they will control you. Lies
work and why? Because we allow them to and don't' have the courage to challenge
them.
The effect of this is like an ocean wave.
Ideas, lies, misrepresentations, etc. continue by the straightforward rule of
endurance.
Manipulation - People will often use their
version of reality to stay others in circumstances that they will control. Just
check out certain countries today that have populations that are under siege
and there seems to be nothing they will do to vary them in need of a
revolution.
So, what current truths does one believe are
impacting your life or choices and decisions and the way does one define truth?
